MARKET WRAP
Stocks were broadly lower today as the S&P 500 fell from record highs.
The large-cap index was down 0.19%, while the Nasdaq closed slightly higher up 0.04% and the Russell 2000 was down 1.19%.
On the sector front, energy was the big loser, down nearly 2%. Utilities and Technology were the only sectors to close in the green.
CNBC notes that the major averages are trending positively this September, despite ongoing concerns about a slowing economy following the Federal Reserve's recent rate cut. This move has so far helped the S&P 500 outperform typical September trends, indicating resilience in the market.
