The record highs for the major indices come ahead of the CPI report on Thursday. According to Liz Young Thomas of SoFi, so far in 20-24, the S&P 500 has risen when the CPI came in cold and fallen when it was hot but bounced back a day later.
The CPI report will play an important role in the Fed’s decision to cut interest rates.
