Stocks Rally After Strong Jobs Number

MARKET WRAP

Stocks rallied today after a blowout September jobs report.

The S&P 500 was up 0.9%, the Nasdaq gained 1.22% and the Russell 2000 was up 1.41%.

Today’s gains pushed the markets into positive territory for the week, after a rough start to October.

United Airlines was among the top-performing stocks on the day, up 6%.

Tesla, AMD, Meta, and Amazon also outperformed, helping to push the Nasdaq higher.

Financials was the top sector. Big bank earnings kick off next Friday with JPMorgan and Wells Fargo set to report.
